West Water Quality Consultant

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a motivated, self-directed Water Quality Consultant to support hydro quality and environmental study projects throughout the West Coast, from Sacramento to Bellingham. This position involves both fieldwork and data analysis, focusing on water quality monitoring, aquatic systems, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in field sampling and instrumentation, strong analytical and reporting skills, and a solid background in environmental or aquatic sciences.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in field studies related to water quality, hydrology, and aquatic environments, including:
  • Installation, calibration, and maintenance of water quality instrumentation
  • Collection and analysis of water, sediment, and biological samples
  • Streamflow measurements and aquatic habitat assessments
  • Conduct data management and analysis to support hydro quality and environmental studies.
  • Prepare technical documentation, study plans, and environmental reports that meet state and federal requirements.
  • Support hydro quality assessments and ensure accuracy and consistency across study
  • Manage field logistics, project schedules, and data deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Fish & Water Science, or a related natural resource discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in water quality monitoring, aquatic ecology, or environmental studies
  • Proficiency in data analysis and management tools; experience with ArcGIS (Pro, Online, Field Maps, Survey
    123) preferred.
  • Experience with water quality instrumentation (YSI, HOBO) and basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of hydrologic and water quality data collection and quality assurance methods.
  • Excellent technical writing and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working in field conditions, including remote or physically demanding environments.
Compensation Package:
  • Pay Range: $66,219 - $96,304 (DOE)
