Early-Career Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist
to join our environmental site investigation or due diligence practice in
Portland, Oregon
. This position offers the opportunity to leverage both academic knowledge and practical experience in addressing environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance issues for a diverse range of national private and public sector clients, while developing key business skills essential for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including ASTM‑compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Supporting environmental compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi‑media).
- Supporting site characterization and remediation projects.
- Fieldwork such as soil, vapor/air, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system O&M.
- Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- Developing task, project, and client management skills.
- Data evaluation, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
- Support preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- At least 2 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
Prior research experience in environmental contamination and remediation. (preferred) - Occasional field work and overnight travel. (required)
- OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER training and associated on‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
