Join J2 Building Consultants as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) specializing in building envelope systems across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

• Stamp with Confidence – Review and approve drawings, calculations, and designs related to building envelope systems, applying professional engineering stamp.
• Solve Structural Mysteries – Investigate performance issues, identify root causes, and propose durable, code‑compliant solutions.
• Lead with Expertise – Guide junior staff and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Balance Office and Field – Split time between analysis, report writing, and site investigations.

• Professional Engineering and Design – Perform detailed structural analyses, review and approve structural calculations, and provide expert insights into envelope solutions.
• Quality Assurance and Approvals – Apply professional stamp, conduct thorough reviews, and resolve design concerns with project managers.
• Project Management – Oversee projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage documentation and client communication.
• Building Envelope Expertise – Apply specialized knowledge, conduct field assessments, and advise on retrofit solutions.
• Team Collaboration and Mentorship – Support junior engineers, promote professional development, and stay current with advancements.

• 5–7+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Licensed PE in Oregon preferred – accepts EIT; bonus for WA, UT, or .
• Proficient in structural analysis software.
• Strong communicator with solid writing skills.
• Comfortable in field and client meetings.
• Detail‑oriented, curious, confident, and enjoy mentoring.

• Travel locally and regionally to job sites.
• Conduct inspections in all weather conditions.
• Climb ladders, access roofs, enter crawlspaces and tight areas.
• Sit at a desk writing reports and reviewing drawings when not in the field.
• Carry gear up to 50 lbs when needed.
