Senior Estimator Job Description

Actalent is seeking to hire a Senior Estimator, who will prepare comprehensive estimates for projects of all sizes, covering all phases of the estimating process. Your role will involve coordinating with vendors to gather pricing and product information, collaborating with subcontractors for accurate and timely bid submissions, and building strong relationships with vendors and general contractors to stay informed about upcoming project opportunities.

• Perform detailed takeoffs and enter data into estimating systems.
• Draft clear and concise scope letters.
• Develop estimates that include appropriate margins and are structured for easy use in cost-to-complete tracking and project phasing.
• Maintain post-bid documentation, including competitor analysis, pricing benchmarks, square foot costs, and labor hour data for future reference.
• Participate in company meetings to provide updates on potential and active projects.
• Attend monthly estimator meetings to share insights and contribute ideas for improving company-wide coordination, efficiency, and profitability.
• Collaborate with the project controls team to refine and uphold company procedures in pursuit of operational excellence.

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Experience with projects of $30+ million scope.
• Proficiency in Accubid, Spectrum Software, and pricing and budget analysis.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction.

• Experience with calculations and Accubid entry for indirect costs, general conditions, subcontractor, and vendor quotations.
• Design build experience including layout of devices meeting code requirements and incorporation of narrative into electrical drawings.

The position is based in NW Portland and operates Monday through Friday, reporting to the Chief Estimator. You will be part of a team of 5 estimators. The company offers 3 weeks of PTO / Sick leave, a 6% 401k match with a 3-year vesting period, a 2% immediate vesting match, and 7 paid holidays. The work environment supports some of the largest projects in the area, including data centers, semiconductor facilities, and healthcare institutions.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00 / yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Portland, OR.
