- Develop foundational knowledge in fire protection system design, modeling, and documentation.
- Develop proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD as design/drafting tools.
- Provide task‑based support for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
- Develop an understanding of drawings, specifications, building codes (e.g., NFPA), and fire protection design industry standards.
- Complete assigned work with instruction from project team members.
- Assist with construction administration.
- Perform basic hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems.
- Perform battery sizing calculations for fire alarm systems.
- Assist in the layout and design of fire protection systems, including sprinkler, standpipe, and special suppression systems.
- Contribute to the layout and design of fire alarm systems, including notification appliances, initiating devices, and sequence of operations.
- May assist in the design layout of plumbing systems, providing task‑based support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Fire Protection preferred).
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain.
- Prior internship or cooperative education experience in building systems or fire protection preferred.
Hiring Base Salary Range: $68,600–$87,500 annually in Portland, OR. This position is eligible for time and a half overtime pay.
