Snapshot / Role Overview
We’re seeking a Controls Programmer in Portland, OR to program and support commercial building automation systems for high-efficiency facility operations.
Impact- Deliver tailored BAS programming and integration for diverse commercial environments
- Ensure seamless system startup and commissioning to minimize delays
- Enhance operational performance through precise controls logic
- Reduce client service costs with well‑tested, efficient installations
- Program building automation systems (primarily Niagara/N4)
- Perform point‑to‑point checkout and functional testing of control systems
- Create and modify graphics, sequences, and user interfaces
- Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting for new and retrofit systems
- Collaborate with field techs and engineers to resolve integration issues
- Maintain documentation, drawings, and version control for programs
- Ensure code meets safety, quality, and client specifications
Must‑Haves
- 5+ years in building automation controls (commercial projects)
- Proficient in BAS programming, graphics, and integration
- Experience in startup, commissioning, and field‑level troubleshooting
- Local to Santa Maria area with stable work history
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience with multiple BAS platforms (Tridium, Distech, Siemens, etc.)
- Background in HVAC/mechanical systems
- Familiarity with installation and service tasks
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
