As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Jacobs, you will lead geotechnical tasks and deliver on a wide variety of water and transportation market projects—including dams, levees, treatment plants, bridges, and related infrastructure. Projects will include conventional design-bid-build and design-build approaches. This position can be based in Corvallis or Portland, OR.

• Lead projects in the development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses and prepare technical reports.
• Develop contract documents and support project construction.
• Mentor less experienced staff with the potential opportunity to be a staff manager.
• Engage with a large interdisciplinary design team, interact with existing and prospective clients, and support business development efforts.
• Assist the regional business group and geotechnical leadership in advancing the technical capabilities of the regional office and global geotechnical group.

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 15 years of geotechnical consulting experience with a focus on water and transportation market or related infrastructure projects.
• PE license.

• Exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing for soil and rock.
• Experience with design, construction, and inspection of water and transportation market projects.
• Design of typical geotechnical structures—shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and ground improvement.
• Understanding of earthquake hazard evaluations, including liquefaction assessments, site-specific ground response analyses, and design spectra development.
• Preparation of technical reports.
• Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses : SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE or SLOPE / W, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier, PLAXIS, and FLAC.
• Preparation of design drawings and specifications.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
