Nondestructive Testing Engineer

Movement Search and Delivery is working with a manufacturing company in Portland, Oregon, to identify and evaluate a NDT Engineering Manager.

We're looking for an NDT Engineering Manager to lead the nondestructive testing function at a manufacturing site. You'll report to the Plant Quality Manager. You'll serve as the site's Responsible Level III, with final authority on NDT specifications, test results, and personnel certification.

• Lead a team of NDT engineers and technicians, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and department budget
• Own the NDT personnel qualification and certification program, including approving procedures, training, experience documentation, and vision examiners
• Make sure all NDT methods meet customer, government, and industry specifications, and run internal audits of NDT processes
• Act as the main contact with customers on inspection matters, including site visits, complaint resolution, and root cause and corrective action on returned product
• Partner with engineering, sales, planning, and manufacturing on new product introductions and ongoing production support
• Develop new NDT methods and techniques that improve inspection effectiveness and reduce cost
• Build and deliver inspection training programs

• BS in NDT, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years in at least two NDT methods plus 4+ years as a Level III
• 3–5 years in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, or 8–10 years in other manufacturing sectors
• A track record of leading engineers and technicians and delivering on quality, cost, and schedule
• Experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams
• Proven contributions to new or improved NDT methods
