Parts Specialist

Overview

Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Parts Specialist to join our team. The Parts Specialist is responsible for taking calls from external customers and technicians, and working with vendors on over-the-counter parts sales. The role requires a strong sense of urgency in responding to customer needs while maintaining inventory, costs, and quality control.

• Accept telephone, email, and counter orders for external customers and Company technicians; fill orders from stock.
• Research replacement parts using parts manuals, computer listings, or other resources.
• Discusses use and features of various parts; advise on substitutions when replacements are not available.
• Fill customer orders from stock or by special order; order parts for stock replenishment.
• Update customers on backordered parts in a timely manner.
• Prepare Sales Orders for invoicing; handle payments and credit authorization as needed.
• Participate in inventories and cycle counts; maintain accurate inventory and sales records.
• Support other Parts Sales Specialists and assist with the sale of material handling equipment.
• Handle calls and promote overall sales; assist Parts Sales Representatives with order entry and maintenance.
• Distribute and explain service and parts bulletins to staff; assist in back counter and stockroom as needed.
• Participate in Parts Department training and meetings; perform duties related to parts sales activity as assigned.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Effective public speaking and customer interaction skills
• Ability to work with diverse teams and maintain professional relationships
• Willingness to work off-hours as needed and take on additional responsibilities
• Ability to perform essential job functions with alertness and safety
• Understanding of machine parts and their functions; willingness to learn new programs, procedures, and manuals
• Ability to learn all phases of the Parts Department operation and expand responsibilities as needed
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and organized work area
• Positive attitude, self-development mindset, and flexibility
• Willing to comply with the employee handbook

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

• Position is non-sedentary; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside conditions, and various environmental factors

• The hourly range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00. Final pay offered is influenced by experience, education, and location. Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
