The Private Event Sales Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of private event bookings at The Get Down Music Venue. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of booking corporate events, weddings, and large-scale private parties, and will bring a creative, customer-focused approach to the role. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and some creativity in establishing The Get Down as a destination for more than just music.

Position Overview

The Private Event Sales Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of private event bookings at The Get Down Music Venue. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of booking corporate events, weddings, and large-scale private parties, and will bring a creative, customer-focused approach to the role. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and some creativity in establishing The Get Down as a destination for more than just music.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing: Proactively generate leads and seek out new opportunities for event bookings. Develop promotional materials and marketing strategies to target corporate clients, wedding planners, and private event organizers. Meet or exceed sales goals for private event bookings.

Vendor Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with external vendors such as caterers, photographers, DJs, and florists. Ensure vendors meet the venue’s standards and are well-coordinated to meet client expectations.

Event Consultation & Booking: Meet with prospective clients to discuss their event vision, budget, and requirements. Provide guidance and recommendations on venue spaces, event logistics, catering, entertainment, and other event details. Draft and negotiate event contracts, ensuring all client needs are met and agreements are clear. Coordinate with clients to finalize event dates, timelines, and specific requests.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and other event organizers. Provide excellent customer service and maintain regular communication with clients from booking through to event execution.

Event Coordination: Work closely with The Get Down’s operations team to ensure smooth event setup and execution. Oversee event logistics including catering, audio-visual needs, décor, entertainment, and staffing. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or changes leading up to and during the event. Ensure adherence to venue policies and timelines.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales for event spaces or related industries, preferably with a focus on corporate events, weddings, and large private parties (birthdays, bar mitzvahs, graduations, etc.). Experience working with various vendors and event service providers.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and consistency. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and last-minute changes with professionalism.
  • Personal Attributes: Creative, energetic, and adaptable with a passion for creating memorable events. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
