We’re adding an experienced Senior Wealth Management Associate to our growing Portland team. This position has the opportunity for career advancement within client service/team operations.
We have a hybrid work environment, with team members working in office two to three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays, 8‑5:00) and then able to work remotely the other days if they choose.
Responsibilities- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, outside advisors (CPAs/attorneys) and custodians
- Participate in client meetings and present ideas and concepts in an organized and effective manner; manage agenda, record notes, prepare summary emails, and manage post‑meeting action items
- Utilize financial planning tools to analyze and assist in making recommendations regarding clients’ cash flow, long‑term plan, and asset allocation decisions
- Prepare analysis for clients to provide context for financial decisions, such as buying or maintaining life/disability/LTC insurance, funding 529 plans, or refinancing debt
- Coordinate, manage and delegate workflow to the team’s Client Service Associates; handle money movement requests
- Oversee and coordinate the new client onboarding process
- Oversee annual tax reporting and completion of relevant tax documentation with CPAs
- Oversee the preparation and processing of all documentation related to client onboarding, implementation, and ongoing maintenance; review documentation prepared by CSAs
- Coordinate client "touch points," including anniversaries, thank you notes, and gifts
- 3‑5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a comparable role within the Wealth Management industry (preferably at an RIA)
- Series 65 license plus the FPQP (paraplanner certification) or first module of the CFP – or willing to get them within 12‑18 months (at Coldstream’s expense)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce CRM, eMoney, and/or Tamarac is a plus
- A Bachelor’s degree (finance or related focus is preferred)
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to delegate, think critically, solve problems, and manage a busy workload
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused setting
In terms of pay expectations, we assess each candidate individually based on their experience and qualifications and offer competitive compensation that reflects the value they bring to the team. Base pay typically starts between $90k - $115k plus an annual bonus and a generous benefits package.
