Job Summary

The Standard seeks a talented actuary to join the Individual Annuities team. This role is responsible for planning and projections. As a partner to senior actuaries, financial professionals, and executives, the successful individual must understand the big picture and present results to senior leaders regarding the models, evaluate trends, and possess the confidence to question results. The position reports to the Senior Director of the Individual Annuity team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Projection:
    Develop and maintain planning models and tools. Collaborate with pricing, valuation, finance, sales, and other functional areas to develop annual business plans and other projection analysis to monitor business performance.
  • Data Analysis/Information Systems:
    Extract, analyze, and prepare data for use in actuarial analysis. Analyze, interpret, and present numerical data related to pricing and other actuarial analysis.

    Collaboration:

    Communicate and collaborate with various departments across the organization to meet business needs. Use data and analysis to provide strategic guidance in influencing management decision making.
  • Customer Focus:
    Anticipate customer needs and take initiative to address business challenges. Determine appropriate methods and procedures for new assignments and seek guidance when needed.
Skills and Background You’ll Need Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field.
  • ASA Certification (required).
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on actuarial experience.
  • Individual Annuity or other annuity products experience highly preferred (e.g., fixed rate multi‑year guaranteed deferred annuities, fixed indexed annuities, and immediate annuities).
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with actuarial tools and systems.
  • US Statutory and US GAAP experience preferred.
  • Power

    BI, Python, SQL, and GGY AXIS experience preferred.

Salary Range: $92,250.00 - $
