Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing daily and monthly accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting organizational financial processes. This role involves collaboration with project managers, oversight of financial systems, and preparation of comprehensive financial statements.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements and related reports.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and best practices for financial transactions.

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate entries.

- Process month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger reviews.

- Generate client-specific invoicing and maintain subledgers and supporting schedules.

- Supervise cash management activities, including tracking bank balances and ensuring adequate cash availability.

- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support project managers on budgets and proposals.

- Administer and maintain the Acumatica financial system, including upgrades and report generation.

- Manage fixed assets records, depreciation schedules, and various tax filings.

- Prepare deliverables for annual financial reviews and audits in collaboration with external auditors. Requirements - Strong expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficient in journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

- Knowledge of grant accounting and GAAP principles.

- Experience with fixed assets management and tax filings.

- Familiarity with Acumatica or similar financial systems.

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and project managers.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.
