Overview
Diabetes Educator - Full-Time, 32 hours a week, Day Schedule. This position works with Pediatric and Adult Endocrinology.
Providence Ambulatory Services offers patient-focused, whole-person care and a culture of commitment and mutual respect. This role provides education for clients with diabetes of all ages, tailored to individual needs, and involves collaboration with RNs & RDs in classroom or outpatient settings. Professional development and community outreach are part of practice.
Responsibilities- Provide education for clients with diabetes of all ages according to individualized needs (assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of education plans).
- Conduct health and education assessments considering psychosocial, economic, and language barriers.
- Collaborate with a team of RNs & RDs in classroom or outpatient settings.
- Engage in professional development and community outreach as an integral part of professional practice.
- Oregon Dietitian License upon hire.
- National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire.
- Three (3) years of experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years.
- Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to diabetes education.
- Experience with the clinical management of diabetes.
- Formal coursework or credentials in principles of adult learning theory and patient-centered learning.
- Certification in Diabetes Education, or willingness to attain CDE certification upon hire.
- Experience with diverse ethnic groups.

Other information:
The base pay range is $40.11 - $62.27/hour. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, on-call, overtime, premiums, bonuses, or other incentives.
