Registered Dietitians

Adventist Health is seeking a per diem / prn RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for a per diem / prn position in Portland, Oregon.

Provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents identified with special needs and/or who meet nutritional risk criteria. Activities include patient assessment and reassessment, interdisciplinary communication, nutrition plan development, documentation, and education of patients and families.

• Assess patients to determine nutritional risk.
• Provide high quality nutritional care through nutrition plans, meal pattern facilitation, monitoring intake, initiating interventions, and delivering education.
• Conduct comprehensive initial assessment and ongoing reassessment of nutritional status.
• Evaluate patient response to the plan of care and adjust as necessary.
• Set patient care priorities and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Administer medical nutrition therapy safely and accurately, including monitoring and documenting patient response.
• Serve as an educational resource for health care team members, patients, families, and community.
• Orient and instruct new professional, registered, and ancillary personnel on duties and clinical activities.
• Provide learning opportunities tailored to nutrition education needs of patients and families.
• Collect and assess data on patient nutritional condition; supervise indirect data collection.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Nutrition or equivalent;
  Master’s Degree preferred (required only if eligibility for examination began on or after 1/1/24).
• Experience: Clinical Dietitian experience preferred;
  Dietetic internship or equivalent required.

  Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completing residency program;
  Licensed Dietitian (LD) as required by facility.
