This is a per diem/on call position to cover primarily the Portland Metro area.
DescriptionThe Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of hospice patients and their families in their home setting. As a member of the Hospice team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the Hospice.
Responsibilities• Cover per diem/on call shifts primarily in the Portland Metro area.
• Provide professional spiritual care ministry in home settings.
• Serve the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of hospice patients and families.
• Implement the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the Hospice.
• Collaborate with the Hospice team and other caregivers to deliver whole-person, patient-focused care.
- Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or related religious studies accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations or equivalent education/experience.
- Coursework/Training:
Four clinical pastoral education units. - National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire.
