Compass Oncology, the largest multi‑specialty medical oncology practice in the Pacific Northwest, is looking for a Medical Assistant who will float between our Oregon clinics. Working as part of our oncology team that is on the cutting edge of cancer care and treatment, our MAs play a crucial role in the daily patient flow, assisting a specific Physician/APP, rooming patients, taking vitals, and communicating on behalf of the provider.

An energetic individual with oncology or specialty experience will find the most success in this role.

Employment Type:

Per Diem, up to 20 hours per week (Typically 8‑hour shifts)

Location:

This position is a float position that requires travel between Oregon clinics.

Salary Range: $21.25–$34.03 per hour

Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate’s applicable experience and qualifications, as well as internal employee equity considerations.

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care (exams and procedures). Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physicians’ schedules. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including hormones and biological growth factors.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answers patient telephone்ப calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phones in prescriptions and makesங்கள் other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
• Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedules appointments following test results as applicable.
Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x‑rays, scans, etc.
• Performs other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant, preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
