Overview

Mammography Technologist, Radiology, Portland, Oregon, United States.

Start date:

10/19/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,734–$2,760 per week. Shift: Days, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week) on a 5x8 schedule. Work setting: medical imaging department within a care facility.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized mammography examinations, including screening and diagnostic imaging, using dedicated mammography equipment.
  • Ensure patient positioning, compression, radiation safety, and image quality; follow MQSA guidelines and department protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to obtain diagnostic-quality images; review images for artifacts and adjust technique as needed.
  • Maintain patient comfort and privacy; communicate procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care in a fast-paced setting.
  • Document imaging studies accurately; ensure complete study sets and proper data entry for interpretation.
  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment, monitor for proper function, and report any equipment issues promptly.
Requirements
  • Active radiologic technologist license in Oregon or eligibility to obtain one
  • Mammography certification (MQSA) or ARRT Mammography certification
  • Prior mammography or related radiology experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a busy imaging department and deliver accurate, patient-centered care
  • Willingness to travel and commit to a 13-week assignment beginning 10/19/2026
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; compliance with safety and privacy standards
