Valet Attendant – Providence Portland Med. Ctr. – PT (M‑F) $16.30/HR + Tips

Compensation: Hourly base pay of $16.30 per hour plus tips.
Work Schedule: Part‑time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Approx. 16–24 hours per week.
Benefits: Accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and telemedicine insurance; eligibility to enroll in the company’s 401(k) plan (subject to eligibility and terms). Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for these benefits.
SummaryThe Valet Attendant provides exceptional hospitality services, parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting guests with luggage, and delivering information and assistance as needed.
Essential Functions- Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet using a professional, friendly demeanor and addressing guests by last name.
- Welcome guests and use proper phone etiquette. Post in designated areas when not completing tasks.
- Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about onsite amenities and local attractions; deliver messages or items and shuttle guests to approved locations.
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures on arrival; issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys; collect claim checks upon vehicle return; keep accurate records of ticket information, key tags, damage surveys, and revenue.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Licensure: Valid driver’s license for the state where work will be performed.
Work Experience: One month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Skills:
- Read/write and comprehend standard English.
- Effective presentation of information to guests, clients, and employees.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction of three‑digit numbers, multiplication and division by 10’s and 100’s, use of U.S. currency.
- Understand 24‑hour and military time; understand applicable rates.
- Operational knowledge of manual transmission (desirable).
- Perform parallel parking.
Authority to Act: Operations are fairly routine with decisions made within operational instructions and guidelines.
Working Conditions & Physical DemandsPerform tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods; may run, walk, reach, climb stairs, and handle objects up to 100 lb. Work is primarily outdoors, subject to weather conditions. Travel up to 5 % may be required.
