Purpose

of Role

We are searching for a Sr. Professional, Footwear Color Development to focus on and elevate UA Color Development for Footwear products. The Sr. Professional will focus on Footwear but will also have opportunities to touch all parts of the brand and have access to the latest technologies and innovations. Impact
  • Own the Color Development process, procedures and execution for Footwear components.
  • Partner with cross‑functional Footwear teams and external suppliers to create and deploy color development processes for Footwear components.
  • Create and publish Color Development SOPs for Footwear components and products; train suppliers on best practices for color development.
  • Partner with Footwear suppliers for component color development; review, assess, and track color submissions; partner with Footwear Development team for model‑level color review.
  • Partner with UA Innovation teams to provide Color support on new Footwear material developments.
  • Partner with third‑party experts to develop color feasibility documentation and predictions for Footwear materials and components.
  • Support print development and execution for Footwear components.
  • Collaborate with Color Reviewer for color sample review, assessment and commenting; partner with component suppliers on color submit process and alignment; leverage experience and knowledge for troubleshooting.
  • Maintain color data integrity for Footwear developments; partner with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the highest level of data hygiene and completeness.
  • Explore PLM and other software opportunities for Footwear color data with internal enterprise teams.
  • Support tracking and reporting of seasonal buy‑ready statuses and supplier scorecard assessment in partnership with Color Analyst.
  • Develop and publish assessment criteria for Footwear suppliers (seasonal scorecard).
  • Report seasonal buy‑ready statuses for Footwear components.
  • Support seasonal color palette development from a Footwear perspective; publish relevant documentation to Footwear suppliers; develop seasonal color feasibility documentation.
  • Support development of new and innovative Footwear materials and finishes; support 3D material and product development for Footwear components.
  • Partner with regional Color Development teams on troubleshooting and training of internal and external partners and ensuring global process alignment.
  • Support UA Sustainability initiatives from a Color perspective; develop methodologies for applying sustainability metrics and/or improvements to Color processes.
  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Color vision score (FM100) of superior color discrimination required (Digital FM100 test will be administered during the interview process; Physical FM100 test required upon hire and repeated every 6 months).
  • Familiarity with color science and technology (spectrophotometers, light boxes, color standards, etc.).
  • Understanding of color development lifecycle (lab dips, bulk lots) and color review process.
  • Experience with non‑apparel components (trims, footwear, hardgoods) is a huge plus.
  • Comfortable using enterprise software systems such as PLM and Microsoft Office.
