Language Partners in Portland Maine is hiring Professional Interpreters.

• Onsite
• Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
• Over the Phone Interpreting (OPI)

• Khmer (Cambodian)

• Interpret between English and target language.
• Accurately interpret.
• Maintain professionalism through attitude and interpreting services.
• Follow the Interpreter Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

• Proficient in English and target language in both written and spoken forms.
• Proficient computer skills, including email, scheduling systems, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• Advanced interpretation and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation for onsite appointments, reliable phone, internet connection, and a quiet work environment for virtual appointments.
• Familiar with interpreting modes – simultaneous or consecutive, VRI, OPI, OSI.
• Certified in Interpreting or a related field; BA in Interpretation, Translation, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 1–2 years of experience interpreting in a professional setting.

• Type: 1099 Independent Contract.
• Hours:
  
  Schedule by appointment only; interpreters accept or decline appointments and create their own schedule.
• Payments:
  Pay schedule is once a month.
• Pay: $19.00–$35.00 per hour.
• Expected hours: 10–16 per week.
