Onsite Medical Interpreter - ALL LANGUAGES (OREGON & SOUTHERN WASHINGTON)

Providing on-site interpretation services and on-demand sight translation services for Linguava’s clients, patients, and family members.
Responsibilities- Interpret for individuals and/or families who don’t speak English at predetermined locations for in-person medical appointments. Interpretation includes hospital admissions, hospital discharges, clinical visits including specialty clinics, outpatient surgeries (pre-op and post-op), outpatient diagnostics, schools, and sometimes emergency room visits.
- Follow all Linguava and client protocols described in the Linguava employee handbook and the national standards of practice. This includes educating patients, families, and providers on your role as the interpreter. Check yourself in and out of appointments on time and stay for the full scheduled duration.
- Manage an organized schedule and ensure no appointments are missed or double booked.
- Certified or Qualified Healthcare Interpreter through the State Of Oregon (OHA)
- If not currently qualified we can assist with this process for eligible candidates who fulfill all other requirements.
- Demonstrate native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English
- Pass Linguava’s Language Evaluation and skills test
- Reliable transportation (daily travel required)
- Excellent listening, communication, organizational and customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Medical field experience preferred but not required
- Use of bilingual skills in a professional or medical setting preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must be organized and punctual
- 1099 - Independent Contractor
- Remote options not available
Compensation will be measurable with experience, credentials, and availability.
