We are passionate about helping patients find their seat at the table to fully participate in their healthcare, regardless of what language they speak or sign.

Providing on‑site interpretation services and on demand sight translation services for Linguava’s clients, patients, and family members.

• Interpret for individuals and/or families who don’t speak English at different predetermined locations for in‑person medical appointments. Interpretation will include interactions during hospital admissions, hospital discharges, clinical visits including specialty clinics, outpatient surgeries (pre‑op and post‑op) outpatient diagnostics, schools, and sometimes emergency room visits.
• Follow all Linguava and client protocols described in the Linguava employee handbook and the national standards of practice. This includes but is not limited to: educating patients, families, and providers on your role as the interpreter. Checking yourself in and out of appointments on time and staying for the full scheduled duration. Call and advise Linguava when you have any cancellations in order to attempt to replace that appointment with another.
• Manage an organized expense report to be updated regularly with mileage travel to and from all appointments. Have the report ready to turn in once a month by the predetermined due date.

• Certified or Qualified Healthcare Interpreter through the State Of Oregon (OHA) - If not currently qualified we can assist with this process for eligible candidates who fulfill all other requirements.
• Demonstrate native or near‑native fluency in both Spanish and English
• Pass Linguava’s Language Evaluation and skills test Reliable transportation (daily travel required)
• Excellent listening, communication, organizational and customer service skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

• Three years of interpreting experience
• Medical field experience
• Use of bilingual skills in a professional or medical setting

• Proficiency in basic office programs, such as Excel
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team
• Exceptional communication skills
• Must be organized and punctual

• Full‑time, 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday
• Availability to work occasional times outside of shift depending on needs
• Remote options not available

Compensation will be measurable with experience including a generous benefits package after 90 days.
