Provide on-site interpretation services and on‑demand sight‑translation services for Linguava’s clients, patients, and family members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Interpret for individuals and/or families who do not speak English at various predetermined locations for in‑person medical appointments—including hospital admissions, discharges, clinical visits, specialty clinics, outpatient surgeries (pre‑op and post‑op), outpatient diagnostics, schools, and emergency room visits.
- Follow all Linguava and client protocols described in the company handbook and national standards of practice. Educate patients, families, and providers on your role as interpreter; check in and out on time; stay for the full scheduled duration; notify Linguava of cancellations to attempt replacement.
- Maintain an organized expense report with mileage travel to and from all appointments, and submit it each month by the predetermined due date.
- Certified or Qualified Healthcare Interpreter through the State of Oregon (OHA). If not currently qualified, Linguava can assist with the process for eligible candidates who meet other requirements.
- Native or near‑native fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Pass Linguava’s Language Evaluation and skills test.
- Reliable transportation (daily travel required).
- Excellent listening, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Three years of interpreting experience.
- Medical field experience.
- Use of bilingual skills in a professional or medical setting.
- Proficiency in basic office programs, such as Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Must be organized and punctual.
- Full‑time, 8 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday.
- Availability to work occasional times outside of shift depending on needs.
- Remote options not available.
Compensation will be measurable with experience and includes a generous benefits package after 90 days.

Salary ranges:
Portland, OR $92,000.00–$95,000.00 (1 year ago);
Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area $99,461.00–$ (2 days ago).
