Pendleton has been woven in the West since 1863. Built on a legacy of craft, quality, and authenticity, our products are known for their timeless design and enduring stories. The Sourcing Director leads how and where our Apparel, Home, and Accessories products are made. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sourcing & Logistics, this role partners in shaping our global sourcing strategy and leads its execution, manages our supplier portfolio, and owns costing and negotiation discipline.

Working closely with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners, this leader ensures every season delivers on quality, cost, capacity, and speed-to-market while advancing responsible sourcing.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Sourcing & Logistics to develop and execute a global sourcing strategy that supports growth, margin, quality, capacity, capabilities, and speed-to-market goals.
  • Translate a multi-year sourcing roadmap into seasonal vendor and capacity plans that diversify country and supplier risk.
  • Lead factory evaluation, vendor qualification, onboarding, allocation, and performance management.
  • Assess and recommend sourcing models, including FOB, LDP, agent, and direct, and country-of-origin mix by category.
  • Strengthen strategic vendor partnerships through scorecards and quarterly business reviews.
  • Expand sourcing capabilities in Home and Accessories, including home textiles, knits, jacquards, and leather goods.

Costing & Margin Management

  • Own costing and negotiation discipline in partnership with Product Cost Engineering, including target costing, cost breakdown reviews, and price negotiations.
  • Deliver initial markup (IMU) against plan and track negotiated savings and cost engineering improvements versus prior seasons.
  • Establish minimum order quantity (MOQ) and lead time standards by category, balancing vendor requirements with Pendleton’s heritage styles.
  • Partner with Logistics and Trade Compliance to optimize duty, freight, and total landed cost.

Capacity Planning & Seasonal Execution

  • Lead capacity planning and dual-source strategies to protect supply on key programs and top-volume styles.
  • Drive seasonal execution from vendor allocation through production readiness, ensuring calendar adherence and material availability.
  • Coordinate the supply of Pendleton mill fabrics to cut-and-sew partners, aligning mill and vendor timelines.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve production risks early, establishing clear ownership and timely decisions.
  • Monitor on-time delivery against agreed ex-factory shipping windows and use production readiness checkpoints to keep seasons on schedule.

Quality & Responsible Sourcing

  • Partner with Quality to monitor vendor defect rates and customer returns and drive improvements in product quality.
  • Partner with Logistics, Trade Compliance, and Social Compliance to improve supplier performance and advance responsible sourcing.
  • Champion audit coverage, timely remediation of compliance findings, and wool and fiber traceability.
  • Monitor country and vendor concentration to strengthen supply resilience.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Team Leadership

  • Partner with Product Management, Design, Product Development, Planning, and Quality to align cost, calendar, and capacity priorities.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of sourcing and production professionals.
  • Contribute to a work environment that supports teamwork, inclusion, and respect.
