Position Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the maintenance shop, ensuring all company vehicles and heavy equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective condition. This role leads a team of mechanics, coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance programs, ensures strict compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, and directly supports the overall effectiveness and performance of COR's fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Shop Management
  • Lead, mentor, train, and supervise a team of diesel mechanics and shop staff.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work orders to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage mechanics schedules, timecards, and attendance to ensure proper shop coverage and policy compliance.
  • Conduct regular shop meetings to communicate priorities, expectations, and safety topics.
Fleet Maintenance & Repair Oversight
  • Oversee all diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance (PM) for diesel-powered refuse trucks, roll-off trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Develop, schedule, and track the PM program to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
  • Conduct final quality inspections on completed repairs to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and company safety standards.
  • Oversee and document shop-related incidents, equipment failures, and safety violations.
Safety, Compliance & Training
  • Lead safety meetings and enforce strict compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and all required compliance documentation for audits.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate technical skill development, onboarding, and professional growth for technicians.
Operations & Cost Management
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs, including labor and parts, while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist with budget planning and track expenditures related to fleet maintenance.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as vehicle downtime and repair turnaround time; implement process improvements to optimize shop performance.
Other Duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the operations department.
