Cook Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and elevate our company wide safety efforts. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and driving a comprehensive safety program that protects our people, reduces risk, and ensures full regulatory compliance. As a trusted partner to operational leadership, the Safety Manager champions a proactive, accountable safety culture while leveraging data, technology, and continuous improvement to strengthen both workplace and fleet safety performance.

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and driving a comprehensive safety program that protects employees, reduces risk, and ensures full compliance with all applicable regulations. This role leads the organization’s Safety Committee, owns all company wide safety initiatives, and partners closely with operational leadership to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive hazard prevention.

In addition, the Safety Manager supports the company’s fleet operations by leveraging GPS and telematics software to enhance driver safety, optimize routing, reduce operational costs, and improve overall fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership & Program Ownership
  • Own, develop, and continuously improve the company’s safety strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the Safety Committee—setting agendas, driving action items, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and assessments across all branches and operational environments.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action plans.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, track, and present company safety metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
  • Drive safety‑related communication across the company, ensuring visibility and accountability.
  • Work with Training team to develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and new‑hire orientation content.
  • Travel to other centers as needed to support safety initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage all workers’ compensation claims, from incident reporting to resolution.
  • Serve as the liaison between employees, adjusters, medical providers, and legal counsel.
  • Monitor and manage return‑to‑work and modified duty programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate OSHA recordkeeping and reporting (e.g., OSHA 300 logs).
  • Collaborate with HR on accommodation and FMLA/ADA‑related matters when applicable.
Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement
  • Champion a proactive, people‑first safety culture with emphasis on prevention and accountability.
  • Evaluate trends, near misses, and audit findings to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with leadership teams to develop branch‑specific and company wide safety targets.
  • Recommend and implement safety technologies, equipment, and operational best practices.
Fleet Safety & GPS/Telematics Management
  • Support Fleet Management use of Telematics to drive fleet safety and efficiencies.
  • Assist in management of driver scorecards and provide performance feedback to managers.
  • Collaborate with Fleet/Operations leadership on vehicle assignments, compliance, and safety‑related policies.
  • Support incident analysis using telematics data and coordinate with insurance and risk management teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Risk Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in field service, construction, logistics, or technical services.
  • Experience with GPS/telematics platforms (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, Verizon Connect, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive organizational initiatives.
