Purpose

The Retail Store Manager supervises the retail team, leads store strategy, and ensures operational excellence. The role requires maintaining a profitable store while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities Manage Store Operations
  • Resolve escalated customer issues
  • Reconcile accounts and make deposits
  • Create and oversee purchase order completion
  • Manage inventory and forecasting
  • Ensure health, safety, and security rules are followed
Lead Store Strategy
  • Plan and implement strategic objectives that fulfill the mission and goals efficiently and effectively in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Evaluate, improve, and report on efficiency of business processes to enhance profitability and quality results
  • Establish, maintain, and present reports to key stakeholders
  • Engage in effective feedback systems to monitor and communicate operational and strategic alignment with interdepartmental objectives
  • Manage departmental budget and profitability metrics
Supervise Retail Team
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, select, and hire an appropriate team
  • Enable employees to meet Snow Peak’s expectations for goal accomplishment by overseeing onboarding and continuous improvement
  • Monitor employee work schedules, assignments, training, paid time off, and overtime
  • Develop employees through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Communicate transparently and resolve conflicts to foster a inclusive and cohesive team
Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience
    • 5 years working in a retail environment
    • 2 years managing or leading a team
  • Skills
    • Ability to learn new computer programs and software
    • General knowledge of employment laws and regulations
    • Proficient expertise in Excel and analytical reporting
    • Financial and business acumen to drive profitability
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
    • Intermediate writing and documentation experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Abilities
    • Ability to learn quickly and creatively solve new problems
    • Proficient presentation and public speaking skills
    • Excellent leadership and management skills with ability to motivate
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
    • Superior time management with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Physical Effort
    • Prolonged periods standing
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
