Data Science Manager
The Assistant Manager, Safety Response provides oversight and coordination of the daily activities of the Safety Response Team field staff, working to create a safe and welcoming system for all. They recommend deployment strategies and adjust resources as necessary based on operational needs. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the inventory control and performance management of safety response team field staff.
They work to ensure staff work cohesively with agency Public Safety resources and outside agency personnel.
The Assistant Manager, Safety Response manages a public-facing team designed to provide high visibility system-presence that creates a safe and welcoming environment for all. This position is designed to add contemporary strategies in resolving low-level, livability-related issues impacting transit in the Tri-County area.
The Assistant Manager requires significant problem solving and communication skills. Responsibilities also include partnering with community-based resources that serve those riders experiencing homelessness, drug and/or alcohol addiction, and mental health issues. The Assistant Manager, Safety Response collaborates with other safety and security teams within Tri Met.

Serve as a good steward of Tri Met by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of Tri Met’s product and service offerings.
A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Applied Science, Human Services, Health Science, Criminal Justice, or Emergency Management is preferred.
A minimum of four (4) years total credited experience.
* Two (2) years of experience in public safety, law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections, military, nursing, community health worker, EMS, social services, public health, or a similar discipline to provide the experience needed, are required.
Two (2) years of experience with program development and evaluation in public safety, public health, or social services, are preferred.
One (1) year of lead or management experience is required.
Possession of one or more of the following certifications is preferred: ACM - Certified Case Management; CCM - Certified Case Manager; CSWCM - Social Work Case Manager Certification; LCSW - Licensed Medical Social Worker - State Licensure; LMSW - Licensed Medical SW; TSSP - Transit Safety and Security Program (Bus and Rail); or AHSS - Certification As A Security Officer.
