In the role of Substation Section Manager, we’ll count on you to:
Coordinate with local Market Sector, Business Group, and Area leadership to drive the growth of the section, including recruiting, hiring, and training staff; and developing and implementing business development and marketing strategies to meet the goals and initiatives of the Area and national Power Delivery Practice.
Lead and motivate the staff in the section to strive to meet the goals of the area and Power Delivery Practice.
Monitor and manage staff morale in the section and provide leadership to promote and maintain a positive and collaborative culture.
Coordinate with substation teams across the national Power Delivery Practice to support work‑sharing efforts.
May perform 0% and/or Project Reviews for project managers within the section.
Administer performance reviews and staff evaluations of direct reports and ensure reporting supervisors/team leads within the section are administering reviews for their staff.
Coordinate with local Business Group Manager and Area Manager to promote and ensure the work performed in the section meets the corporate and area Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and that a culture of quality is maintained in the section.
Monitor staffing levels within the section and develop recruiting and hiring plans as necessary.
Coordinate with regional recruiting team and local leadership to implement hiring plan.
Manage workload in the section to meet the operating goals of the local area. Complete timely reporting to area leadership as required.
Maintain up to date and accurate workload and utilization forecasting per direction from leadership.
Responsible for understanding the Area safety policies and procedures and ensuring that they are understood and followed, in close coordination with the Office Safety Coordinator.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
