You’ll partner with leadership to orchestrate daily operations — from managing staff and budgets to overseeing facilities—while championing the cultural and linguistic richness that sets Atlas apart. Your leadership spans enrollment, staff development, compliance, and community building, with your critical thinking and communication skills on full display.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Communication Excellence:
Outstanding verbal and written abilities to articulate the Atlas mission to families, collaborate on sensitive conversations, and present data clearly to leadership and regulatory agencies. - Excel & Technology Mastery:
Developed spreadsheet skills for budget tracking and enrollment analysis; proficient with Google Suite, MS Office, database management, and scheduling software (preferred but not mandatory: Playground Management Software). - Self-Starter & Team Player:
Takes ownership independently while working collaboratively, proactively identifies improvements, manages competing priorities with sound judgment, and follows through consistently. - Critical Thinking:
Analyzes complex situations, balances enrollment targets with budget constraints and quality standards, and anticipates issues strategically. - Reliable Transportation:
Valid driver’s license and vehicle required for travel between locations and community events (up to 10% travel, primarily day trips). - Practical
Skills:
Comfortable with basic facility maintenance tasks and a proactive approach to addressing operational needs. - Love for languages:
Speaks Spanish fluently. Knowledge of the French language a plus.
All candidates must meet Oregon Office of Child Care (OCC) certified center Director qualifications, including:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Verifiable knowledge of adult management and supervision, AND child development for the primary ages served — demonstrated through education, training, or experience as defined by OCC (or Step 9+ in the Oregon Registry).
- Enrollment in Oregon’s Central Background Registry (C ) prior to hire.
- Completion of all OCC-required initial and ongoing training, verified through Oregon Registry Online (ORO).
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 2+ years of ECE experience, including staff supervision and budget management (Associate’s degree with equivalent ECE experience considered). Experience in a multilingual or immersion setting is a strong plus. Ability to speak Spanish. Ability to speak French a plus.
