Assistant Station Leader - Portland (PDX)

Location: Portland, OR
Company: Sky Hop Global
Position: Assistant Station Leader

Join Sky Hop Global

Sky Hop Global is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Station Leader (ASL) to help lead our Portland (PDX) operation.

Sky Hop Global provides ground transportation for airline crews across the country. Our teams operate in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment where safety, reliability, teamwork, and exceptional service are essential.

The Assistant Station Leader works closely with the Station Leader to oversee daily operations, support and develop our team, maintain service and safety standards, and ensure we consistently deliver an extraordinary experience for our airline partners and their crews.

This is an excellent opportunity for an operational leader who enjoys being actively involved in the business—not simply managing from an office.

What You’ll Do

As the Assistant Station Leader, you will help lead the day-to-day operation of our PDX station, including:

  • Support the Station Leader in overseeing daily station operations and ensuring reliable airline crew transportation.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership to Drivers, Trainers, Leaders on Duty, and other station team members.
  • Ensure the station consistently meets Sky Hop Global’s standards for safety, service, reliability, and professionalism
    .
  • Monitor daily operations and proactively address staffing, scheduling, service, and operational challenges.
  • Help create and maintain effective employee schedules based on business and client needs.
  • Ensure drivers report to work fit for duty, in proper uniform, and prepared to safely perform their responsibilities
    .
  • Reinforce and enforce all driver safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Coach employees on safe driving practices, customer service, attendance, performance, and company standards.
  • Assist with accident and incident response, reporting, documentation, and required follow-up.
  • Support driver training, retraining, evaluations, and ongoing employee development.
  • Partner with Recruiting and HR to maintain appropriate staffing levels and support hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and retention.
  • Ensure new employees receive the training and support needed to successfully perform their roles.
  • Address employee performance concerns promptly and professionally and ensure appropriate documentation is completed.
  • Monitor station KPIs and assist the Station Leader with operational reporting and performance improvement.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and help ensure vehicles are clean, safe, properly maintained, and ready for service.
  • Communicate effectively with Dispatch, station leadership, corporate departments, and airline partners.
  • Lead by example and build a culture of accountability, teamwork, integrity, growth, and exceptional service.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who is comfortable working in a fast-moving transportation environment and can balance employee leadership with operational execution.

Qualifications include:

  • 2-3 years of leadership, transportation, logistics, hospitality, operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong commitment to workplace and transportation safety.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using technology, operational systems, and performance reports.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with employees, customers, and internal business partners.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Valid driver’s license…
