About This TeamThe Footwear Development team is a diverse group of creative, solution‑oriented thinkers. They are product experts with deep industry knowledge of the footwear creation process, working cross‑functionally with raw materials, design, sourcing, costing, and merchandising. The team drives global product development from conception to commercialization, guiding seasonal strategy and design vision while fostering continuous personal and professional growth.
A Day In The Life- Execute the development strategy for footwear product creation while ensuring alignment with multiple product teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the footwear product creation process, including raw materials, design, product development, sourcing, costing, and merchandising.
- Create, update, and share tech package creations and BOMs to communicate design intentions and material information, resulting in accurate prototypes and samples.
- Collaborate and communicate with cross‑functional stakeholders such as design, material development, innovation, wear testing, procurement, and vendors.
- Build and maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities, performance, relationships, material pricing, and lead timelines.
- Adhere to predetermined timelines and gates, actively tracking progress and providing senior leadership updates on an agreed basis.
- Apply industry knowledge and past experience to operate within guidelines and policies, driving key business strategies and complex problem solving.
- Manage projects to hit costing, performance, and manufacturing targets while maintaining design intent and merchandising brief requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or 7 years directly related manufacturing, product creation, or associated field experience.
- At least 5 years of product creation experience.
- Highly organized with the ability to track progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of shoemaking, manufacturing, and commercialization of footwear.
- Ability to navigate project management successfully on and off seasonal calendars.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Natural leader and collaborator, able to unite a team around a common goal despite differing viewpoints.
- Ability to deliver product on time and at cost, navigating the costing framework and supply‑chain levers.
- Ability to identify performance attributes in footwear, measure, analyze, and solve related problems.
- Good understanding of material types, applications, and limitations.
- Ability to read and scrutinize 2D and 3D patterns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Use of digital resources to provide clear, concise visuals for communication.

The typical hiring range for this position is $91,400–$120,000 annually. Base pay is based on market location and may vary according to experience and internal equity. Permanent employees may also be eligible for a competitive annual bonus program and other rewards, subject to eligibility requirements.
