Job Overview
CF&I Steel, L.P. is looking for a Shipping Supervisor for the Seamless Mill team located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for all day‑to‑day manufacturing and quality operations on the seamless mill and will report directly to the General Supervisor for the Seamless Mill.
Responsibilities- Perform daily mill inspections focusing on safety and productivity, and coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures.
- Conduct shift safety meetings and daily toolbox talks, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations.
- Use LEAN tools from the Rocky Mountain Steel Business System to engage employees in continuous improvement of mill operations.
- Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training.
- Manage an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and perform operational maintenance of mechanical equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical systems).
- Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues promptly.
- Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance.
- Work with shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
- Three years of industrial supervisory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control, automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent planning, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high‑quality results and maximum productivity.
- Strong verbal and written communication with all levels of personnel.
- Initiative to identify areas, propose, and implement solutions.
- $85,000 – $90,000 per year.
