General Production Worker

Join our team as a General Production Worker in a tire retread shop, where you will assist in various retread operations. Your duties will include measuring and cutting tire tread to length, operating machinery to adhere tread to wheels, and using hoists and conveyor systems to manage used semi‑truck tires. You will also operate a conveyor system to transport tires into heating chambers and assist in baking tires for four hours before unloading them.

Additionally, you will help with production tasks in other departments as needed, and use pneumatic buffing tools to finish tires.

• Measure and cut tire tread to length.
• Operate machinery to adhere tread to wheels.
• Use hoists and conveyor systems to maneuver and transport tires.
• Operate a conveyor system to transport tires into heating chambers.
• Bake tires for four hours and unload them using conveyor and pulley systems.
• Assist with production in other departments as needed.
• Use pneumatic buffing tools to finish tires.

• General labor experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Capability to push, pull, bend, and stoop as required.
• Open to working overtime, including 10‑hour shifts and Saturdays.

• No prior experience required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.

The work environment involves handling used tires, which can be a bit dirty and loud in some areas due to the operation of ovens and other production equipment. The facility utilizes multiple conveyor systems to transport tires, and employees are expected to work from 4 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime extending shifts to 1:30 pm or 2:30 pm, and every other Saturday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Portland, OR.
