* Analyze inspection requirements and prioritize work based on inspection flow and available resources.
* Utilize mathematical calculations, engineering drawings, and precision measuring equipment to complete job assignments.
* Collaborate with team members in problem-solving and process improvement activities to document standard work.
* Provide guidance and instruction to team members on drawing interpretation, problem identification, and relevant policies and procedures.
* Verify the completeness and accuracy of all necessary documentation, including manufacturing orders and applicable specifications.
* Process and monitor non-conforming parts and assemblies, ensuring proper documentation and identification of rejection numbers.
* Oversee the handling of non-conforming parts per Material Review Board dispositions, ensuring compliance with Quality Operating Instructions.
* Recognize the need for special testing or inspection and route such cases to the appropriate areas prior to acceptance.
* Coordinate with internal and external organizations, including customers and suppliers, to clarify requirements and provide additional information as needed.
* Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies using precision measuring tools, rejecting any discrepant items.
* Perform in-process inspections, including audits and visual inspections, to ensure quality standards are met.
* Ensure that all tools and equipment used in the shop are certified and in compliance with safety standards.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and other shifts, providing status updates and relevant information on inspections.
* Support engineering research and development by conducting necessary inspections and providing feedback on quality improvements.
* Mentor and train lower-grade inspectors on procedures, equipment usage, and quality standards to enhance team performance.
* Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
* Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
* Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
* Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
* Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
* Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
* 1+ years’ experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
* 1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
* 1+ years’ experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
* 1+ years’ experience conducting Inspections using ASME Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
* Experience as a Quality Inspector.
