Fabrication Shop Fitter​/Welders

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Fabrication Shop Fitter/Welder role in Portland, OR. With a focus on continuous improvement, they pride themselves on maintaining excellence at every stage of their manufacturing process.

• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and proper PPE is in place.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures to build accurate assemblies.
• Use grinders, torches, saws, and other fabrication tools to prepare parts for fit-up.
• Tack weld assemblies and measure to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Perform final welds in all postures and positions.
• Conduct First Article Inspections.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit-up as they occur.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with MIG, TIG, and Oxy-Fuel torch welding in a heavy industrial environment.
• Knowledge of rigging and crane safety.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently while following directions closely.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
