Overview
Portland Rescue Mission is seeking a Men's Shelter Night Team Member to serve patients in a Christ‑centered, full‑time ministry.

Full‑time, Non‑exempt - Hours:
Night shift – M–Th 8:30 pm‑6:30 am, F 8:30 pm‑7:30 am, Sat 7:00 pm‑7:30 am, Sun 7:00 pm‑6:30 am - Pay Rate: $25 /hr plus $125 monthly transportation/parking stipend and $1,000 hiring bonus after 90 days

The Burnside Shelter provides 24‑hour emergency services to men in downtown Portland, offering meals, showers, clothing, and transition programs.
The PositionThe Men's Shelter Night Team Member will give hope and restore life through guest care ministry, sharing Christ, maintaining safety, and managing daily operations.
The Essentials- Serve as part of the guest services team in daily operations, especially Guest Relations and men’s shelter ministries
- Welcome guests with Christian hospitality, encouraging hope and life transformation
- Ensure a safe, healing environment through operational excellence, PRM safety practices, and de‑escalation of volatile situations
- Follow all operational procedures and PRM policies for effective care of all guests and participants
- Document significant interactions with guests in PRM database and communicate important information via email
- Support individual volunteers and volunteer groups, navigating difficult interactions and providing coverage when necessary
- Winsomely share the Gospel to guests and program participants through one‑on‑one and small‑group settings whenever possible
- A passionate relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and testimony of continued growth
- A calling to serve God in ministry to homeless and addicted men and women
- Active participation in a church community, manifesting spiritual growth and maturity per traditional Biblical standards
- Adherence to Portland Rescue Mission's Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics
- Personal ethos and work ethic reflecting Portland Rescue Mission’s ministry culture – Highly Relational, Christ‑Centered, Joyful Servant
- Preferable knowledge and experience working with homeless community, including addiction, mental health, and housing needs
- Competency and comfortability in support software: client databases, Excel, Outlook, and other office tools
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs unassisted
