The Development Systems VISTA Specialist will strengthen fundraising systems and organizational capacity to support long-term growth and expanded services for low-income communities. The VISTA Member will assess development practices and build tools that improve donor management, fundraising tracking, and cross-department collaboration. Activities include strengthening CRM infrastructure and data standards; developing donor segmentation and stewardship tools; creating reporting dashboards, campaign workflows, and sponsorship tracking systems;
and documenting standard operating procedures. The member will research nonprofit fundraising best practices and recommend improvements to efficiency and sustainability. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, project management, data systems, communications, or organizational development. Strong communication skills, comfort with technology, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are important. Candidates with lived experience in mental health or addiction recovery or peer support are strongly encouraged to apply.
Based in Portland, Oregon, The Peer Company is a peer-run nonprofit providing peer-delivered recovery services and workforce training. Duties :
The VISTA will strengthen The Peer Company's long-term fundraising capacity by assessing current development practices and designing sustainable systems for CRM use, donor-data organization, stewardship planning, reporting, campaign planning, and sponsorship tracking. The VISTA will research nonprofit development best practices; develop internal workflows, procedures, templates, dashboards, data standards, and donor-segmentation tools; and document standard operating procedures for staff use. The VISTA will collaborate with staff to pilot and refine these systems and develop recommendations for their long-term maintenance and implementation by organizational staff.
