Job SummaryThe Adult Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care for adult patients with general medical conditions or undergoing general surgical interventions. Under the direction and supervision of the appropriate client representative, the RN assesses, implements, and evaluates patient responses, initiates nursing care, and offers health education and counseling to promote well‑being.

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
LicenseCurrent and unrestricted RN nursing license in the state of practice.
ExperienceOne year of experience as an RN in an Adult Medical Surgical Unit within the last three years.
CredentialsCurrent CPR at BLS level and completion of other health and screening tests required by the facility.
Environmental Working ConditionsVarious client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities- Comply with ATC policies and client facility nursing policies.
- Conduct individualized patient assessment, prioritizing data collection based on patient needs.
- Perform ongoing nursing assessment per patient condition and facility protocols.
- Collaborate with team members in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care.
- Administer treatments and therapies as ordered, timely.
- Provide patient and family teaching.
- Document patient assessments, findings, and psychosocial responses.
- Initiate emergency measures per adult resuscitation protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Provide care that is non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory, and culturally competent.
- Advocate patient rights for advance directives and organ donation.
- Report patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.
- Maintain competency via continuing education and meet state requirements.
- Adhere to ethical conduct and professional nursing standards.
- Delegate effectively and appropriately.
