Participates with the Health Care Team in delivering quality health care to patients in a manner which reflects Kaiser Permanente’s mission, vision, and values while supporting the Labor Management Partnership (LMP) principles and practice. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with a caring, courteous, flexible, supportive, respectful, open‑minded, appreciative attitude committed to a team environment. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating the nursing care for patients during the inter‑operative phase and coordinating care activities with other ASC professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Professional Practice Standards:
    Comply with shift, unit, and organizational policies including reliability, attendance, and time‑keeping. Participate in clinic and nursing quality assurance programs. Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational records. Promote collaboration and professional interaction with the health care team.
  • Planning:
    Use assessment data to develop care plans sensitive to patient developmental needs and procedure requirements; provide age‑appropriate education and support to patients and families.
  • Implementation:
    Apply correct body alignment for positioning and transfer of patients; efficiently organize nursing activities in both circulating and scrub roles; record and document relevant information.
  • Evaluation:
    Evaluate and document patient outcomes; participate in unit quality assurance activities on a monthly basis.
  • Safety Management:
    Maintain safety in use of all equipment per manufacturer instructions and unit protocols; comply with all Kaiser and unit‑specific policies and procedures.
Education

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory care/clinic setting within the last five (5) years.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience circulating in inpatient or ambulatory surgery setting within the past five (5) years.
  • Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty experience within the last three (3) years.
  • 3–5 years of OR circulating and scrubbing experience.
  • CNOR certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Pre‑op area skills.
  • IV start skills.
  • Additional 2 years of experience circulating in inpatient or ambulatory surgery setting within the past 3 years.
