Department OverviewDoernbecher Children's Hospital is a national leader in pediatric innovation and family‑centered care. The hospital is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and offers world‑renowned programs in oncology, neonatology, and craniofacial medicine.
The OpportunityAs a Nurse Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated pediatric professionals and drive clinical outcomes, operational excellence, and team engagement.
- Lead and mentor a team of nurses and interdisciplinary staff
- Advance patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical best practices
- Partner in strategic planning and unit‑based performance initiatives
- Foster a culture of inclusion, professional development, and accountability
- Champion family‑centered care and improve health equity for pediatric populations
The Nurse Manager is responsible for operational, human resources, quality, and financial management of the assigned care area and ensures compliance with administrative, regulatory and clinical policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications- Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing
- Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare‑related field
- Five years of experience as a registered nurse in a related clinical area
- Two years of recent leadership experience
- AONL Nurse Leader Core Competencies
- AONL Nurse Manager Competencies
- Experience in complex organization environments
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Unencumbered Oregon RN license
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent nursing professional certification
Master’s degree in nursing leadership
