Oncology Infusion – Outpatient Advanced Practice Provider
Location: South Waterfront – OHSU Center for Health & Healing, Building 2 (CHH2)
Job Type: Faculty – Regular Full-Time
Salary Range: $121,356 – $174,063 (education, experience, and OHSU Compensation Plan for APPs)
Position: Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate)

ScheduleWeekdays: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM (7 days on / 7 days off). Weekends: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Coverage:
Monday through Sunday. Unit operates 365 days a year.
- Triage phone calls from patients and answer questions.
- Ensure a seamless, effective care experience through collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
- Partner with clinic leadership to identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for education and training of staff, colleagues, and students.
- Provide comprehensive clinical management of patients receiving infusion therapy in an outpatient oncology setting.
- Respond to and manage adverse infusion reactions and other emergencies.
- Assess patient condition when notified of an urgent need and order necessary medications, imaging studies, or other supportive care interventions.
- Communicate with the primary treatment team regarding adverse reactions or urgent patient issues.
- Provide patient education.
- Consult with Outpatient Treatment Unit (OTU) nurses.
- Ensure OTU has APP coverage at all times, working collaboratively with colleagues and covering for peers on leave.
- Provide urgent medical care for same‑day evaluations.
- Provide medical care independently or in conjunction with attending physicians.
- Review labs and imaging as appropriate.
- Assure appropriate setting of care (ambulatory, inpatient, critical care, acute care).
- Document findings, assessment, and plan in progress notes per OHSU guidelines.
- Manage symptoms of complex patients collaboratively with oncology nurses, palliative care, social workers, and others.
- Maintain communication with primary care providers and other agencies as appropriate.
- Deliver care to patients on clinical trials per protocol guidelines with timely notification of principal investigator or study coordinator and documentation of adverse events.
- Identify and engage in opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
- Promote use of appropriate research findings in practice to exceed care standards.
- Collaborate with physician leadership, nurse managers, nursing staff, and social workers to prevent and respond to patient complaints.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year as an APP in oncology.
Nurse Practitioner:
- Current, active Oregon Nurse Practitioner license.
- State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner prescriptive privileges.
- DEA certificate.
Physician Assistant:
- Current, active Physician Assistant license in Oregon.
- DEA certificate.
Certifications:
- ACLS/BLS required.
- 2+ years of APP experience in Hematology & Medical Oncology.
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills.
