Assistant Nurse Manager, Pediatric Acute Care Surgical
Position Overview:
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse (RN) responsible for ensuring excellence in nursing care. ANM partners with the Nurse Manager to provide managerial and leadership functions, primarily during evening and night shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight, consistency, and continuity of patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards
- Perform managerial activities, including employee evaluations, mentoring, coaching, and performance management
- Implement quality and safety initiatives and engage in process improvement
- Maintain adherence to bargaining unit agreements and human resource management
- Support a safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, productive, and engaged staff environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years relevant clinical experience with strong leadership (e.g., charge nurse role)
- BSN or higher degree in nursing
- Unencumered Oregon RN License
- BLS for healthcare provider
- PALS
- Strong prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments
- Ability to function in frequent change and fluctuations
- Accept accountability and responsibility of the assigned work area
- May be required to attend out‑of‑town conferences per hospital travel and reimbursement policies
- Subject to computer work for several as needed
- Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers including ensuring safe conditions for patients, families and staff
- Ability to implement a flexible schedule to meet operational needs and create work‑life balance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field
- Previous management experience

Salary range $103,334 - $175,614; FTE 1.00;
Schedule Monday‑Friday;
Hours Evenings and any other coverage as necessary.
