Position: Oncology Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate)

Oncology Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate)

Position Category:
Advanced Practice Provider, Faculty, Regular Full-Time, 1.00 FTE, 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Location:

Knight Cancer Institute, Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology, OHSU, Portland, OR. Scheduling: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, no overnight on‑call.

Function/Duties of Position
  • Daily rounds with faculty physicians, including writing notes and orders.
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary inpatient workflow—admissions, discharges, and procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, Ommaya taps, and chemotherapy administration.
  • Teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students.
  • Participation in relevant educational conferences and division‑specific research protocols.
Required Qualifications
  • Independently practiced clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
  • Valid State of Oregon Physician Assistant license and current PA license for the state of Oregon (Physician Associate) or
  • Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse license, current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon, acute care NP experience in hematology/oncology (Nurse Practitioner).
  • National Board certification (Physician Associate) or appropriate prescriptive privileges (Nurse Practitioner).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification or inpatient experience in hematology/oncology/cellular therapy.
  • Two years of oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and/or inpatient hospital medicine.
