Assistant Nurse Manager - Medical Surgical

Providence Health & Services invites applications for the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) role on our Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. This full‑time, day‑shift position offers a competitive salary range of $59.39 – $93.75 per hour, a $8,000 hiring bonus, and relocation assistance for eligible external hires.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services.
  • Provide on‑site managerial presence for all shifts.
  • Manage clinical and non‑clinical caregivers, offering coaching, mentoring, and performance input for evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Monitor and improve quality health care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and monitor clinical priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BS/BScN). Registered Nurses employed prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue a BSN degree; completion is not a condition of employment.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification (American Heart Association). Safe completion required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of acute‑care RN experience.
  • Prior relief charge or higher level of leadership experience.
