American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring NIHSS certification and at least 2 years of recent experience.

• Medical Surgical Neuro unit within a short term acute care teaching hospital
• Patient population includes CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and substance withdrawal cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required, including remaining on call if cancelled from a shift
• Floating required between units and sister facilities based on skill set
• Charting is done in Epic

• Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at submission)
• OR RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include neurological/psychiatric care, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, traumatic brain injury, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, from supervisory contacts
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment

• Care for neurological patients including those with CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal
• Participate in rapid response/code team activations as needed
• Scrubs may be any color, except OR/Cath Lab where scrubs are provided
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous Providence employees may return after a 3-month waiting period and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Only one active submission allowed to a Providence facility at a time
