American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications along with at least 2 years of ED experience.
Requirements- Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required; first-time travelers considered with 3+ years of experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in emergency care for pediatric and adult patients including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
- Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work every other weekend
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Floating to other units and sister facilities within the health system based on unit needs and skill set
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic for charting
- Deliver emergency care across a wide range of acute conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG/ECG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
- Facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 418 staffed beds
- Scrubs may be any color
- No parking fees at this facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local pay rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
