American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring at least one year of experience and an active compact RN license with OR RN license also required.

• Short-term acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend or every weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

• Active compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Active OR RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with wound care, insulin protocols, and post cardiac cath management preferred
• Must own a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry-monitored Med/Surg unit with a wide range of cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color is any color for this unit
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be granted
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local for pay rate purposes
• Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff
