Appointment- Surgery Veterinary Assistant Level 1

Dove Lewis Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is hiring full-time entry level Veterinary Assistants (Level
1) to join our Appointment-Based Surgery Team.

As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant (Level
1), you will be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the surgery department, assisting with surgeries, and post-operative care. This position may also perform work as a Veterinary Assistant 1 in the ICU or ER.

A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.

Wage: $19-$22 hourly, plus overnight and weekend differential for applicable shifts.

Schedule: Appointment-Based Surgery Veterinary Assistants (Level
1) will work four 10 hour shifts. The proposed schedule for this service is every Monday-Thursday, 7a-7p. Specific shift details are still being determined.

• Experience or education equivalent to a High School Diploma
• Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license for driving the Dove Lewis transport van is strongly preferred
• 1+ year experience working in animal care work such as at a veterinary clinic, kennel, shelter, or animal daycare
• Experience working in sterile fields
• Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above
